Rick gave me an iPad for my birthday. I’m struggling my way around it… This is just a test – to see if I can blog from it.
All well here. Sue is feeling so much better. She has another chemo treatment on the 9th – which will knock her back, but she is learning how to cope – so this one should go easier.
Lovely day today.
Happy New Year! Xxx

Ooh, I want one of those! Blog post received, all looks good. Can you post a photo?
So glad Sue is feeling better. I hope the next round of chemo goes well. Oh, and Happy New Year to you, Janet. XXX
Photos! Oh the pressure!
Nice present!
Glad Sue is doing better and fingers and paws crossed for the next chemo treatment.
Thanks for the update and enjoy your ipad.
Happy to hear Sue is doing better! I wish her all the best with her chemo. xoxo
Thanks Ina X

Dearest Janet,
I just wanted to send you a quick note to say that my thoughts and prayers are with you, Sue and your family.
Chemotherapy is horrible… my mother (the baker of the Apple Spice Cake) went through a year-and-a-bit of cancer treatment in 2011-12. She suffered more than any human should have to suffer… the chemo is basically toxic to the body, whilst radiotherapy causes the most terrible burns. Like you, I felt entirely devastated, useless and helpless during this time. And it seemed to never end.
But… now for the good news! She pulled through, remarkably, and now she’s stronger and more motivated than ever. Probably healthier than ever, too, as she’s eating incredibly well, exercising and caring for herself. I love her to bits… she’s my inspiration, and she reminds me of the strength that can truly be found in God and in the human spirit during hard times. If you need any tips on surviving chemo, on Sue’s behalf, let me know and I’ll pass you on to her.
Much love, your blog is beautiful and honest, and so are you.
Laura x
Ah Laura! I’m so sorry your mum had to go through this too. Cancer affects a whole family (and the family you have ‘chosen’ too).
This has made my small family realise how LUCKY we have been in the past. We are still horrified that it is Sue who has to do this.
I’m thrilled your mum is so much better. It gives me hope.
ANY tips she has for surviving the ghastliness that is chemotherapy would be very, very welcome. I know that every body is different, but if there are things that will lessen the suffering…
I’ll have a chat to mum. I know she figured out some different remedies during her time on chemo that she may be able to share. Watch this space x
