Why Sue and I are doing the very low carb diet at the moment…
I don’t remember who found this article on Jimmy Moore’s blog, but I’m glad they told me
– thank you.
Sue has had two chemo treatments now. She had an allergic reaction to one of the drugs during her first treatment.
There should have been changes made before the second chemo, but that didn’t happen.
The allergic reaction the second time was much worse. She was unable to walk, and the nurses kept asking “Can you breathe?”
Very frightening.
Her recovery from the second chemo has been very slow.
She has an appointment with her Oncologist on Monday and she has asked me to go along. We have QUESTIONS!
Through it all she has remained strong, brave and DETERMINED.
And are they going to make the necessary changes to her chemo now????
Continued purrayers and purrs and Light to her, to you all.
Peace and Blessings.
That’s why I’m going to the appointment with her Kim – to make damn sure changes are made!
I’ve been trying to comment on your blog (for the last two posts), but am having “issues”. I suspect from my end – not yours.
It seems, though my iPad says it has sent something – that ain’t necessarily so!
I am stunned that no changes had been made. This evening I’m feeling kinda guilty as I had my first chemo treatment on Thursday (24th) with no bad or, well, any effects noticed by me or the incredible staff while I was at the hospital. Once home a very minor tingle in the tips of my fingers got the “ginger soak” treatment. Now, I’ll admit that my treatment is being specially tailored so as not (they hope) to make my active Crohn’s disease any worse. various medics have gone through all the things to watch out for umpty something times They have me down as a “special case”, certainly a challenge for us all. But even so …
No way is what Sue is getting acceptable. I am relieved that you will be going with her to see the oncologist. I will be there with you both in spirit every minute of the meeting. It is probably best for you all just that I am not physically and verbally there!
Sending my love, care, healing thoughts and hope, together with Zebby Cat’s loud puRRRRRRRRRumbles for you each and both,
Michelle XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
I am so very pleased it is going well for you Michelle! Don’t be feeling guilty!!!!
The Duty Oncologist (Sue’s man was on holiday) was VERY angry that changes hadn’t been made. Hopefully she followed through on her promise to do some shouting…
It will save me that job, if she has!
Sue is also a ‘special’ case – in that her cancer is so rare, they are really just guessing as to what to do for her, but we (her family) expect a great deal better than what she is getting. If I don’t get answers I will be asking for a change in oncologists.
I am not the confrontational type… Already I have butterflies at the thought, but I will happily fight to the last breath for my sister.
I hope with all my heart that you continue to have a good experience (if that makes any sense at all – given that it’s CHEMO!).
XXXOOO
” best for you all just ” should read ” besy for you all just now ”

the correct spelling can be gleamed from a combination of the 2 comments, with some editing by your dear self, Michelle
Autocorrect is a bitch! Lol.
Janet…how the hell could they miss that Sue had an allergic reaction for a second time??? Wishing Sue all the best with her chemo…and hopefully no more bad mistakes from the medical profession!
Thanks so much Ina. I’ve been meaning to tell you – that Cherry Bark thing you recommended seems to be doing some good!
Sue is taking it on the days she doesn’t have to take the chemo drugs and finds it helps control the diarrhoea she is being plagued with. Also, before her first chemo treatment, they found the marker in her blood had gone down – and the only thing she was doing was the diet… And taking your cherry bark.
Anything that makes the marker go down is fine by us
Breathing problems are horrifying. Sue is so lucky to have you right there for her. Keeping you guys in my prayers.:)
