I waste far too much time lately, sitting – little old cat on my knee – scrolling through all the pretties on Pinterest.
I even find some interesting recipes – including this one.
Sue has a huge, and hugely prolific lemon tree. I have been using her lemons to make fruit jellies for her. Gelatine is very good for you if you have diarrhoea – which is a side-effect of this chemo…
The juice is great, but I remembered a pin I found which suggested dehydrating then grinding the zest for use as a condiment.
It is really easy to do – produces a powder that looks for all the world like gold dust – and, with its gentle – almost caramelised lemon flavour – is just as good dusted over fish, as over a dessert.
I’ve also used it dusted over roast chicken.
Whenever I start to feel the pinterest is the devil, i look around and realise how much I’ve made that I saw there first. Lemon jellies sound divine – what a non-mediciney way to take your medicine 🙂
A lemon tree…I would be in heaven! They must be the tastiest lemons ever. Sounds delicious over meats or a dessert – yummm!
Ooooh, Sunshine in a jar Janet!
I miss my lemon tree in California.
Janet, you haven’t posted in a while… How is Sue?
I have posted. I see pixilated… and my mental image is of a very happy Pixie… I need to get out more… sigh

Janet, that is very close to the meaning: somewhat unbalanced mentally; also : bemused. It’s first known use was in 1848.
However, I first heard it in used by two old spinsters in a madcap romance. A 1936 film “Mr. Deeds Goes to Town” starring Gary Cooper. I love this movie!
What a fantastic idea Janet! It’s been way too long since I last visited your blog. I apologise for the absence; this year has been pretty busy and stressful for me too. I am SO happy to hear that Sue is strong and determined and kicking this disease in the butt, despite the difficulties and pain. She’s an inspiration. I’ve been reading through the most recent few of your posts and I am sorry to hear of your stressful year also. As 2013 draws to a close, I will be praying that this new year will bring better things for all of us. Sending you hugs and love xo
