I’m a stay-at-home mother of two three cats – married to Rick for 25 26 years.
We live in the North Island of New Zealand. I have brown hair, grey eyes and duck’s disease (that is – my backside is too close to the ground!)
I started a blog to have a record of my favourite recipes – these are gluten-free because I have coeliac (celiac) disease. But, it has changed into stuff about life and cats just stuff really.
Changing my diet to gluten-free has recently lead to other changes and I’m now following a Primal diet.
Stuff I love?: Cats; reading; magazines (especially the ones with recipes in – or House and Garden stuff) Pinterest; cats; herbs; dark chocolate; dry white wine; jig saw puzzles; things that smell nice – flowers, roasted chicken, the sea, the scent of a cat when they snuggle under your chin in the middle of the night; quotes; blue flowers; black and white checks; home. Did I mention cats?
Fancy that! I have duck’s disease, too. And I love many of the things that you do….especially cats.
I am going to google “Primal Diet” right now.
Primal diet rocks … it’s weird, but it rocks…
ps Periwinkle blue – my favouorite colour in.the.world. ! The color (we spell it differently) of a sky so blue that if you could dive into it – you would never touch the bottom— AND it has thistle thingys floating in it… ( I have a post where I show the crystal hedgehog AND the thistle paperweight that I have on my kitchen window-sill (can’t remember the title of the post)
We had a neighbour once – she said she was ‘so far above cats.’
I STILL haven’t the first CLUE what she mean’t by that…
But, I knew immediately that she and I… we would NEVER be friends.
We love the same stuff! “Far above cats”? No idea! Ducks disease – there’s a lot of it about! i’m a fellow sufferer. It’s a shame there’s nothing you can take that makes legs longer. I have been Primal for about two years and am slowly morphing into Paleo.
Love your blog, it’s sweet. Have you found a perfect weather place yet?
Is everything OK? I’ve been missing you.
I meant here kiddo.
Thanks Michele – sorry to worry you. I’ve been feeling a bit miserable (you know I have a minor depression problem – right?)… also the husband has been sick (better now, just as I was thinking of murder) and now the little cat has a lump… I’ve been so interested in the work you are doing. You are amazing. XXXOOO
Hello Janet.
I’ve just discovered you via Julianne’s blog. It’s always nice to find other paleo/primal folks in NZ.
Lovely blog.
Dear Janet,
I love your blog – the recepies look just fantastic – I am a follower. Greetings from Germany sends
Barbara
Thanks Barbara.
I’m sorry I missed your phonecall.
Love you XXXOOO
Hi Janet! Looks like we eat very much alike … And you live in NZ? Whee, wonderful! I’d love to visit NZ! 😀
Hello Kath – nice to ‘meet’ you :-). Your own blog looks lovely, I’m looking forward to keeping in touch 🙂
We sound alike, except I am not too badly served in the duck department, 58, live in Oz.
We have six indoor cats – they have a cattery in the garden – and I love cooking. In 2005 I discovered I was gluten intolerant and probably coeliac. It has changed my life from a miserable, itchy, depressed and painful migraine ruled existence to feeling great most of the time (except for the weight department). However, I am restarting my Primal lifestyle formally TODAY.
Love your recipes, I have linked one of them on my Primal Blog http://primalodille.wordpress.com
Cheers
Hi Odille, how lovely to have you along 🙂 I hope you find the Primal lifestyle does you as much good as it seems to do me. Just before Christmas I cut out sugar (quite good timing, believe it or not… pre-Christmas is busy, and I didn’t have much time to worry about what I was missing out on :-)). Today (New Year’s day) is supposed to be the first day of an 8 week no-alcohol personal challenge. This is the big one for me – wish me luck 🙂
You really are a cat person! I like you.
I adore cats Madame, and I like you too 🙂

Thanks for the kind thought Emilie… just as my cooking mojo runs out… 😦
Hi there, I came to your blog through a comment left on Lynda’s, I too am primal/paleo/low carb ,…….well trying to be. 🙂 Lynda showed me the light LOL. I have “ducks disease” too 🙂
I do hope your sister is progressing well. Scarey times but great that you can be so supportive. 🙂
Jenny.
Hello Jenny, welcome. My blog is not usually all about cancer. This has hit us all out of the blue. I DO have some rather nice recipes too 🙂 Primal/paleo is the way to go! Lynda is quite right 🙂
No chemo! Just no chemo. It kills.
Thanks for your opinion cateyeblink – we are hoping chemo will kill the cancer cells. Merry Christmas
Stumbled on you blog, via a previous blog of yours where I loved the quotes and could tell you would be worth following. I’m a cat-loving, paleo lifestyler, too. Thanks for a great read. Prayers for your sis.
Tracey, how very kind of you! Thank you so much.
